Chevrolet Sail is among the ‘soon to be launched cars’ in the Indian market. General Motors unveiled the hatchback version of the car, at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012. The hatchback version will be launched before the sedan version comes out. Chevrolet Sail’s hatchback version will be a premium segment hatchback that will be loaded with advanced features and will be a treat to the senses. The sedan version will be an entry level sedan which will be priced just as Maruti Swift Dzire and Fiat Linea. It will be the replacement of Chevrolet Aveo in the country auto market.
Chevrolet Sail will be made available in petrol only. There will be two variants in the market. 1.2l engine will be borrowed from Chevrolet Beat, but it will be high powered than Beat. 1.4l engine will be borrowed from Chevrolet Aveo and it will race to 100kmph in just 13 seconds. Both the variants will suit different needs of different regions and people. The mileage of both the variants will be among the best in their respective classes.
Exterior Chevrolet Sail is muscular by looks. The front has two big headlamps which attract attention. The front grille is similar to that of Chevrolet Cruze’s. The rear has boomerang shaped rear lamps, which add to the attraction of the car. The medium sized Chevrolet Sail is overall nicely designed and maintains the feel of the Chevrolet’s cars.
Chevrolet Sail has interiors that don’t much turn on the heat. They lack style and statement and do not maintain the standards of Chevrolet’s cars. One can notice that the company, in order to keep the prices low, has compromised in the quality of the interiors. But, it doesn’t mean that they are not good at all. It is loaded with features like stereo mounted audio controls, Power windows, power steering, Bluetooth and USB support.
Chevrolet Sail should sail in the Indian market because of its nice features and looks, and low pricing from the company. It will suit the pocket of buyers in the Indian market and provide them with enough luxury.
